Everyone has their own reason for visiting Walt Disney World. For some it’s the rides, for others it’s the characters, and for yet others, it is all about the food. If you are thinking food at Walt Disney World will be only burgers and dogs, think again! From calamari to caviar, WDW has something for every palate.

With this variety of cuisine and some of the nation’s finest chefs on staff, demand for certain WDW restaurants is quite high. To meet these demands, Disney has created Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs). At WDW, “sit down” restaurants tend to fill up quickly, weeks in advance. If a certain restaurant appeals to you, or if you don’t feel like eating Counter Service for your entire trip, please consider making some ADRs for your stay.
You can make an ADR by visiting Disney World Dining and Reservations and booking online or by calling 407.WDW.DINE.
So how do you know what you may want to eat if you’ve never been? First, you can browse the restaurant menus online: we recommend visiting AllEarsNet WDW Restaurant Menus. Second, you can read our recommendations for best snack, counter service and table service restaurants at Walt Disney World.
Magic Kingdom
Start off a busy day at the Magic Kingdom by carbo-loading with a slice of French Toast Loaf (like bread pudding for breakfast!) or a housemade cinnamon roll the size of your head!
Styled with a turn-of-the-century baseball theme, Casey’s has the best hot dogs anywhere! Make your own chili cheese dog with a side of their delicious chili and free mustard, relish, onions and cheese from the toppings bar.
Honesty, table service dining in the Magic Kingdom isn’t great. Take a break from the park and head to one of the resorts on the monorail for a delicious bite. Try Kona at the Polynesian or The Wave at the Contemporary Resort.
Hands down the best snack in the Magic Kingdom! Pineapple flavored soft-serve a top a glass of fresh pineapple juice! Refreshing and delicious!
EPCOT
Sunshine Seasons: Located in The Land in Epcot’s Future World, Sunshine Seasons is a celebration of fresh flavors. Enjoy a fresh sandwich on artisan bread, grilled salmon with kalamata olive pesto or a selection of Asian-inspired entrees.
Tangerine Cafe: Tucked away in the Morrocco pavilion in World Showcase, Tangerine Cafe delights the palate with delicious shawarmas, wraps and platters. Enjoy tender lamb, beef or chicken dressed with tanini and spices. For the vegetarian in your life, feast on flavorful falafel, hummos and tabouleh. Don’t forget the baklavah for dessert!
Les Chefs de France, located in the French pavilion in World Showcase, was created by some of the fathers of nouvelle cuisine - that is, all the flavors of french food but with more simplicity. Simplistic or no, the creations of the kitchen are fabulous. We highly recommend visiting for lunch and sampling the cuisine at a fraction of the cost (don’t miss the Soupe a l’oignon gratinee!). You may even be paid a visit from a very special Little Chef who has been honing his craft in the kitchen!
We know. You are thinking, I didn’t come all this way for a pretzel. But miss this one, and miss out! Soft, tender, flaky - this is no Super Pretzel! And this particular style is only available in Germany at Epcot, so don’t pass it by!
There are many, many places around World Showcase to sample adult beverages; each unique to its own culture. Our favorite happens to be the St Germain kir in France (elderflower liqueur and champagne). However, you can also grab a pint in the UK pub, sake in Japan, or margaritas in Mexico. Drink responsibly!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
We would never recommend ABC Commissary for lunch. Ever. But surprisingly, their breakfast sandwiches are quite tasty! After a mad dash to Toy Story Mania for FastPasses, grab a seat and a bite of one of their sausage or bacon bagel sandwiches. What a great way to start the morning!
Make like Andy and head for Pizza Planet! Modeled after the pizza/video game parlor in the Toy Story movies, the menu is simple (pizza and salads) but filling. It’s just a short walk to MuppetVision:3D so you can digest before heading back to Tower of Terror!
Pot roast, fried chicken, meatloaf.. ahh, just like mom used to make. But don’t let mom see you with your elbows on the table or you’ll be in BIG trouble! Get your saddle shoes, because you will feel like you are in a 1950’s sitcom when you dine at ’50s Prime Time Cafe.
Animal Kingdom
You’ll forget you are in a theme park when you bite into tender pulled pork that has been slow-roasting since the wee hours of the morning. Served with a side of molassey-sweet baked beans and you’ll swear you have been transported to the Carolinas. Add in a shared basket of crispy onion rings and Flame Tree stands as one of our top Disney Must-Eat restaurants!
While Flame Tree is top notch, the rest of dining in Animal Kingdom leaves a lot to be desired. Take advantage of the earlier closing time by hopping a bus to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge where you can explore at Boma: Flavors of Africa, an buffet combining traditional African fare with modern American cuisine. If you feel like a more sophisticated meal, try Jiko:The Cooking Place for an extraordinary experience in African-inspired dishes pared with fine wines.
